A new and fresh arrangement of this most popular Irish tune, 'Danny Boy' (Londonderry Air), for string quartet. Starting in the viola part, the melody moves through the quartet allowing each player an opportunity to lead. While some slurring and phrasing is included, take care to be consistent with phrasing the melody and pay close attention to the dynamic markings. The three complete statements of the melody take the arrangement through three tonal areas and allow each player full command of their instrument's range.
