This is a beautiful traditional Australian Folksong that tells the story of the banishment of the singer from their native Erin. The tune probably has Irish origins. This quartet version has been arranged for 3 Bb Clarinets and a Bb Bass Clarinet, which could also be played on a Bb Clarinet as well. I’ve used this tune in my Australian Folksong Medley No. 3 for Concert Band. This traditional tune was also featured in the film "The Man From Snowy River".
